Back with a Top 5 Tuesday! This is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and this week is all about books that exceeded my expectations. If you’re curious about the upcoming topics in February then you can check them out here!
Perfect Chemistry series by Simone Elkeles
I was hooked on this series and read the trilogy in under a month. I was amazed as I rarely finish series in, like, a year’s time let alone less than a month?! I think I just found the series when I was in the right mood and I was smiling, I loved the characters and yeah it was a great time. I had never heard of this series before and just randomly came across it.
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
I was about twelve when I read this and this book sparked my love for Agatha Christie mysteries. I remember at the time it creeped me out but I couldn’t put it down and after reading it out of my head. I want to read more Agatha Christie’s but yeah I remember feeling so engaged in this book.
Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco
I had a feeling I was going to like the book but I ended up really loving it. Granted I still haven’t finished the series but it’s still up there! The whole atmosphere of the stories, the characters (Audrey Rose and Thomas!) and just how it hooked me in.
The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
I flew through this book. I was of the opinion where it felt like the pacing was done well. Even though it was all set within one day I didn’t feel like it was rushed. The story was interesting and covered different topics. Yeah I was definitely surprised with how I could not put it down.
The Surviving Trace series by Calia Read
Another series that kept me up late at night. It’s all about a girl named Serene who time travels back into 1912 where she finds out she has a husband (Etienne) and a whole other life. It’s about her trying to find her way back to her time and to her fiance but it gets complicated when she starts to enjoy her life in 1912 and starts to develop feelings for Etienne. Love Serene and Etienne!
Thanks for reading! What books exceeded your expectations?
Until next time…
