Books That Changed My Life | Top 5 Tuesday

Hello everyone! Hope are you today?

Top 5 Tuesday was originally created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and is now being hosted on Meeghan’s blog @ Meeghan Reads. Every Tuesday there are new topics.

This weeks topic is on books that impacted my life in some way or another.

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

And Then There Were None was the first book/story that introduced me to Agatha Christie. Now I have nearly a whole shelf of her books and watch the tv shows. I also had read nothing like it it before, it was my first murder mystery and started my interest.

What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon

This is the first book that made me emotional in the best way. By the end I was crying in happiness and it made me understand how people can get really emotional over a book. It was beautifully written and was told so well (the audiobook was good!). This just hit me and I always recommend this book. It definitely holds a special place.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

This book definitely stands out with the Black Lives Matter movement and it was the first book I’ve ever read on it. It definitely opened my eyes and I finished it so quickly. It was a stepping stone for me to learn more about it, become more aware and also the way Angie Thomas wrote this was so good. It was another book I recommend to people.

Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies) by Scarlett Curtis

Feminists Don’t Wear Pink is also another book that opened my eyes. It opened me into the world of feminism, equality and the strength of women. It’s another book that I had to tab up and on my kindle I would highlight specific passages or quotes I loved. Since then I’ve added more books on feminism to my shelves (such as; Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall, Women Don’t Owe You Pretty by Florence Given).

I know there’s only four books here but for some reason I just didn’t know what to put as my fifth. Each of these books definitely influenced me in a certain way and were the reasons why I started buying more books in those particular areas.

What books impacted your life?

Until next time…

xx
